Professor Clara Dent-Bogányi comes from a family of musicians, grew up in Salzburg, and has won international prizes, including at the ARD Competition in Munich.
She performs as a soloist with many renowned orchestras and has recorded numerous solo works for CD and radio. Her chamber music partners include artists such as Radek Baborak, Irena Grafenauer, Sergio Azzolini, the Kuß Quartet, and many others. Since 1999, she has been principal oboist of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and has appeared as a guest musician with orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Bavarian State Opera. Since 2009, she has been Professor of Oboe at the Nuremberg University of Music and, starting in the summer semester of 2025, also at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She regularly gives masterclasses in countries such as Japan, China, Korea, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, and Germany. Their students are successful internationally in competitions and have positions in German orchestras.
